what we're talking about
what we're talking about here is a second battery
and/or alt with provision for recognizing gyro failure
and providing suitable backup.
That doesn't go away with a twin. And of course with
a twin we have an order of magnitude more complexity,
opportunites for failures and cost.
If I were regularly doing night IMC over mts or water
then I'd want a twin. Or if I needed the corporate
prestige. Or otherwise wanted the challenge.
My case fits none of the above.
