12 black and white photographs taken in germany and mexico on thin (ca. 1,3 mm) porcelain plates,
installed on window boards (granit), leaning against the windows panes (glass).
In connection with a seminar about porcelain and video executed by Ute Janssen and Ingrid Jäger/ School of Fine Arts Hamburg, I started experimenting with porcelain foil and liquid photo emulsion.
I worked out a way to make the porcelain sensitive to light, similar to usual photographic paper, while creating very unusual, interesting surface structures and colours but maintaining the delicate attributes of the porcelain.
Leaning against the window panes highlights the translucent quality of the material.
